Signposts from The Farm
A guide for anyone longing to live from what is true within.
This book was born from a lived journey that began long before the farm, in a life that looked successful on the outside but felt unlivable on the inside.
For years, I pushed to be who I thought I needed to be. But beneath it all, I was struggling with addiction, depression and a sense of disconnection from myself, from others and from God. In 2001, when everything I’d been holding together began to fall apart, I found myself at The New York State Psychiatric Institute. That moment, and Pat entering my life, set me on a different path.

For over two decades, I have been walking that path. Learning, unlearning, falling back into old patterns and finding my way forward again.
Signposts from the Farm is a reflection of my journey home.
The book grew out of years of our Signpost Saturday gatherings at the farm in person and invites you to continue that journey wherever you are. Through 12 guiding principles drawn from lived experience, spiritual practices and recovery, it offers a path back to what is already true within you.
You do not have to struggle with addiction or hit a breaking point to lose your way. At some point, many of us find ourselves living a life that is not fully our own, shaped by expectation, fear or the need to be loved and accepted.
This book is an invitation to return.
Brought to life through reflection, imagery and the natural rhythm of the farm, Signposts from the Farm invites you to experience it in your own way and return to it over time. A companion for anyone seeking connection, a return to what is true within and a more authentic way of living.
